Well.

Did anyone catch Fedor Emelianenko beat the brakes off of Brett Rogers in Chicago on Saturday?

No, This post isn't much on fighting... I posted my 'Firepower' already, i'm satisfied. But the fight was good though. Real good. Fedor. The best in the world. So good that if I ever needed a bodyguard, i'd hire him. And just him. Talk smack to anybody and i'd go untouched. Heehee.

I take to damn long. On my first post I wrote something about being consistent with this stuff, and it kind makes me feel bad. Like your some how failing yourself a little because you didn't post. The hell. I'm trying. I type long ass posts just so I can make up for like a whole week. Don't hate.

I think four posts ago, I said something around the lines; 'i'm going to try harder'... That didn't go far at all. So i'm not going to make any false statements anymore, and just post when I can. For real. I've missed so many damn fights. And im not referring to watching them, im talking about writing about them. :) I watch them, but I don't know where my time goes sometimes. I don't waste time though. I stay busy, but I guess im not a good friend to miss blogspot.

Cambiando de tema.

Im thinking about getting a tattoo set up. The whole deal. The Machine, power, inks, needles, grips, everything. For 2 years i've been wanting to do this. Its calling me. I've had the money to get all the items necessary, but the money always finds other things.

The practice though seems so familiar to markers, pen and paper. Of course skin, is a whole new different medium. The blending of colors, the application, the pressure, the accuracy needs to be on point. With practice though, I see myself throwing down. Fake skin, my foot. Whatever.

Yo,
I got the new Wisin & Yandel – La Revolucion Cd. (haha.) They have this song on their Cd that stands out to me the most. Its called, Perfecto. It hits hard. Some how gets me concentrated on whatever it is im doing. The production gots those crunchy strings and synths, standard reggeaton precussion, its good though. The chorus makes the song, those auto tune effects on the vocals are pretty awesome.

A lot of people hate on the reggeaton genre, but its alright. I guess with moderation? The beats are what make it count for me, because almost anyone on vocals can complement the song.

Fire Power.

One of the most celebrated boxers coming out of 'La Isla Del Encanto', One of Puerto Rico's finest, 3 time former champion, Miguel Ángel Cotto (35-1, 27 KO's) ranked #7 on The Ring Magazine's Pound For Pound list and recognized as one of the top three best in the Welterweight division is training for his biggest test yet. Miguel Ángel Cotto, a former WBA Welterweight champion, marking his only lost to a controversial defeat against Antonio Margarito, is coming back strong from the devastating stoppage. After a flawless win against Micheal Jennings, winning the vacant WBO Welterweight belt in February and a split decision win against maybe the strongest hitting welterweight today, Joshua Clottey in June, he comes back full of heart. Training a whole month in advance for his next bout shows how serious he is about defending his WBO Welterweight belt, but also presents the type of preparation for what he is up against.

Philippine boxing icon, know as a contemporary Hero of Asia. Ranked at #1 on The Ring Magazine's Pound for Pound List and recognized globally as #1, Manny 'Pacman' Pacquiao (49-3-2, 37 KO's) is the next opponent for Puerto Rico's Miguel Ángel Cotto. Pacquiao is the Current Ring Magazine Jr. Welterweight champion and coming from impressive wins against Ricky Hatton, Oscar De La Hoya, David Daiz and Juan Manuel Marquez. Pacquiao's resume is quite a feat. Coming from his first professional fight at the Jr. Flyweight limit of 108 pounds in 1995, now fighting at 145 pounds in his next fight at the Welterweight division has put him down as pound for pound king of the sport. Champion in six weight divisions, tied with Oscar De La Hoya, and now aiming for the unprecedented win of a major world title in a seventh weight class equals a Superstar in boxing. He shines as one of best known, almost seemingly taking Oscar De La Hoya's spotlight after retirement.

Miguel.
Cold. All he needs is a tux, and his occupation will become hit man. El Don de Puerto Rico. Visit his previous fights, and you see a man detached from pain. You see a frigid front. When present, the mood evolves into suggested danger, especially for the man who steps across the ring with him.

His character is fearless, and even during the horror of his only loss, he came out to fight in every round with a man with rocks in his gloves. Took it almost the full twelve rounds. Cotto boxed back to a man that seem unbeatable, a man that whose objective was to win, but in the same time inflicted unbearable pain. Blood, Cuts. It don't mean shit. He comes in it to fight.

Pacman.
He holds a title in which boxers work hard to claim. Known as the best boxer in the world. Pound for Pound king in the sport of boxing, Manny Pacquiao. His following is unquestionable. The company of not just Philippines, but in at a global output now. The move of 108 pounds to the 140's is casting an interest to the average person. The production of Pacquiao's right and lefts profit into entertainment.

Five punch combinations with three steps forward, is an advance of magic, imagery depicting a typhoon style offense. Resistance, the stamina is always there. Blood seems to call this guy's strength or something, its a visual cue for him to engage in sequences that's most memorable for fans. The Speed of pacquiao's punches come in so fast, opponents are left dazed and confused. With the technical training that coach Freddie Roach has taught him, the tools have been surely polished and at this time, the duo between Roach and Pacquiao seems unstoppable.

There is a lot of factors in this next upcoming fight. Boxing writers, the fans, the coaches of both Cotto's and Pacquiao's camps all have their thoughts on what attribute can win this fight. Most of these thoughts though only focus on maybe one or two qualities one has over the other. In the night of the fight though, one or two qualities are not going to mean anything. What's important is how they are going to counter each others known better qualities and how they handle the business.

November 14, Saturday night, is going to be a night with answers like any other night of boxing. The styles between both men is a sight to be seen, mixed. And if you been reading this far, ( because I seem to write to damn much.) you can tell that there is a big interest in this fight. You just don't really know what is going to happen and that's the most special thing.

This is the strongest man Pacquiao has ever faced, and some see that a loss is very close. Cotto seems to come off as an obstacle. A heavy obstruction. A very strong test with the heart and the tools. A full physical package, an obvious bigger man. In the other side though, Pacquiao has never looked better. He's been completely polished into an all boxing machine. His first fights in the major spotlight, were nothing but an arsenal of right and lefts, but now its so many different qualities, angles, so many features now, you don't what he'll bring. The strongest qualities as I mentioned before is stamina and speed, and its going to be the key to win this fight as Cotto is going to bring power and boxing.

I have to say though, I am behind Manny Pacquiao. I feel he has what it takes to win. Speed. Combinations, The challenge though, is a tough one. Miguel Cotto is not going to be pushed over, and is coming with the potency. With fortitude. Its Firepower. That is what you can expect.

Loops/Allure

Just to entice in what brushes so soft.
A shine that could be questioned, how is it was attainable? in a tone of disbelief.
Bracing a breeze, its continuance flow like a leaf leaving it's distant branch.
A rhyme that could be recited, a flutter of rhythms, a dazzled tune twisted .
Entice in all essence, a pass at silk.

My fingers can assign loops allure to my feel.
Indulge the pitch colors. It is real. For real.
Los ojos. Welcome the please. Please. Reflect its luminous appeal.
Unclouded lush in what brushes so soft. Valued in gold into an imaged treasure.
A wrap of delectable candy in hues.

DEP

So I don't know know whether I have mentioned it before, but the last days of Chicago, the last days of the normal repetition of the household, the days of work and school are emerging it's end.

I've lay in bed for nights thinking how when I leave, that this household will change. I will be leaving my brother, mother, father. And it's extremely weird. and how can it not be? Ive lived with the same people all my life. It's been everything with them. A voice in the house will be leaving, hands and eyes will be leaving.

I'm leaving, I know why I have taken this decision, and in the long run I can be content with the sacrifice I'm taking. Its for me to be made. Established. And the realization of my plans to be complete.

And plus I'm leaving somewhere!
(I don't know where yet though!
Hopefully somewhere close.
Or somewhere pleasing.)

I'm home, but at the same time, it will be very enjoyable to live on my own too.

So yes, I have enlisted in to the United States Air Force; and aside from the feelings I have expressed already, I'm ready to rock and roll.

If Basic Military Training/Boot Camp is based to be stressful on waking up early, running and doing a couple of exercises, for me that might as well be like I'm home. I get yelled at all day at work, so listening to the Sergeants screaming is not going to break me down in anyway, but probably tempt me to smirk. I have my brother talking shit to me all day, so I have to constantly be on the defensive and tell him 'Why you hating?'

I heard eating is interesting. I hear they give you like 2-3 minutes to eat all your food, and you probably don't even eat a lot. And I'm looking forward to survival week... it just sounds fun. Tents. Guns. Camouflage. Obstacle course.

The Air Force school will probably be more challenging than the physical. I'm looking forward to it.

Even if I mention to be quite relaxed and looking forward to BMT, I'm still not going to overlook it. I'm preparing mentally and physically. So lets see how it goes. January I will be leaving. (Still a little while from now.) And I will be doing the job that I actually wanted first. Aerospace Maintenance. Fixing Air Planes. :)

I love it.

Kutttt

I think a lot of people have this problem,...and the people that don't have the same problem, some how found a scarce solution; That one person that they can trust for craftsmanship and skill. Deep and deep in the mazes of beautiful people that roam the earth you can have those few people that you trust.

In the account of my life, from when I was a little child, going into high school I've never been satisfied with my haircut/hair and I have dread going to a hair cutlery where I don't know what the hell their going to do with it.

I might sound like I'm whining or sounding a fuss, but fuck that. I've probably never liked a hair cut I've gotten.

Fades/ Blowouts/ Tapers.
Funny these damn words have meanings.

“I need to drive to chicago just to get a damn haircut, I never have time for that shit..there's no contemporary barbers out here.”-
“Just call'em uh 'hood' barber yo, it's okay...'

Marquez/Mayweather.

Mayweather seems like of a class where he himself only belongs. I just could not get it out of thought, how much of an advantage 'Money' had in the ring.

Money-Speed. The guys throws lightning quickness. “I hit him whenever I want to.” Mayweather said after the win in 2007 versus Oscar De La Hoya and as I watched the fight with Marquez, the short sentence circled my mind over and over. His counter ability is like a crack of a whip. The punch is without warning and accurate, with no difficulty winning over the opponents accuracy and output. Defense- like no other. He works the Philly block like no else does. Tucks the chin deep in the shoulder, and bobs, punches just glide past him. Its so good that you really don't ever see him getting hit. It's stunning. Stamina- theres nothing to say, Boxing technique, whatever.

But but but. Even, aside with all this I've mention, the fight that just finished taking place, was suppose the be in the competing fashion. There were rules that had to be followed. There were views and opinions that put the bout in a playing field that seem balanced. There was a chance for both. But Friday, the weight in came, and all the shit came down. A coating of nervousness and doubt came about. It was like 'wtf?'. Five months for this?

Floyd Mayweather Jr. (40-0, 25 KO's) He broke the agreement, helping to secure an easy night at a price $600,000. Mayweather was penned at 144 lbs., but could not make weight and came in at 146 lbs. I mean, that weight difference, was the biggest advantage Marquez had to win. He expected Mayweather to drop weight for better chances of combat. But he did not. All he did was one pound. One pound away from the Welterweight limit of 147.

I feel like he disrespected the law of deal. No meaning of compromise at all. It was the main rule of the contest, and he walked all over it. And it didn't matter to anyone of the 'Money' Team, But it was more than bad-mannered to Nacho Beristain, trainer and manager of who was ranked #2 in the Ring Magazine's Pound for Pound list, Juan Manuel Marquez (50-5-1, 37 KO's).

Marquez earned the spot light. He put the effort in. He push far. He's considered as one of the best craftsmen in the sport. The counter ability is there. Its proficient. The combinations come from confusing angles, when interpreted his opponent would be on canvas. He got so much heart and feeling into his boxing, making his opponents heartbroken that they do not hold the same. He works hard, which is the most appreciative thing he give to boxing fans. He satisfies. The working class fighter. The solution of the mainstream-dead sport. He's followed by his countrymen, a following that echoes loud. How can you not be a fan?

For Marquez, for this fight, he made the effort, he put that work in, to make weight of 142 lbs. coming from the Lightweight division, the of limit of 135. Eating raw eggs, running up mountains, trowing boulders and 'killing mountain lions with bare hands' type of shit. He was garrrrrr.... All heart. El que no arriesga no gana mindset. Rambo 1 fortitude. The way he was..., beat anyone at 140, Anyone. (Watch the link versus Juan Diaz, in the previous blog in the Malignaggi Vs Diaz section.)

And, after reading my previous blogs, you can make the assumption of that I'm for the Undisputed Lightweight Champion Marquez. After months of expectations, watching old videos, engaging in boxing conversations, reviewing articles, I was drawn into this unbiased perception. You can have a favorite, but in this one I just couldn't pick one. Mayweather and Marquez were great in their respected fields. And I couldn't decide.

Of course the underdog, is always the most interesting way to go.. and Marquez, in this one, he was it. And it's just crazy how much of an advantage Mayweather had. It bothers me.

I didn't like the the fact that he came in over the weight. I didn't like how others counted out Marquez. The way it happen, I couldn't get over how it was all sour for Mexican warrior. He can kick ass, but Money was way to damn much. Damn.

Jones Jr./ The Flash Strikes/ & 118-110 Politics.

Wow. August passed. I was suppose to post this before the fights, But it didn' happen... (damn.)

This was suppose to be my pre-fight views, a quick thought on what I think in general of the fighters, the bout, and the one i favored. I was going to begin doing this for upcoming fights that seem interesting to watch... (expect another blog soon..... believe, please.)

These Bouts have passed. The dust has settled.
But if you want to read about Boxing, your welcomed. :)
(With these Boxing post, you can show your knowledge of whats going on in the boxing world. Impress fight fans......... Yeah, right.)

There are links to high lights of what being described through out the blog, to enrich your Visual/Reading experience.

Roy Jones Jr. Vs. Jeff Lacy
Mr. 1990's, Jones Jr., (53-5, 39 KOs) is still on the come up after unanimous decision loss against Joe Calzaghe, (I don't understand how Jones Jr. just gave it away. Jones Jr. dropped him in the first and didn't even box after. He didn't show his stylistic offense, Maybe he just doesn't have it anymore..) Jones Jr's career in question, set up a tune up bout against zombie-like Omar Sheika in March. Jones Jr. did demonstrate he still had the stylistic offense he's known for. He out classed him, TKO'd in the 5th and was called out by Jeff Lacy, (25-2, 17 KOs) who's on the come up as well after losing to Jermaine Taylor. I think Jones Jr. is getting a little old.. He's still quite quick though for an old age. He thinks he can still be on top. I have to see it to believe it. Lets see.

(Fight Conclusion- I didn't catch the fight..but..of what I read, Jones Jr. beat that ass. Lacy retired in beginning of the 11 Round. Score was lopsided favoring Jones Jr. )

Nonito Donaire Vs. Rafael Concepcion
'The Filipino Flash' Donaire, Known as the next Pacquiao, (21-1,14 KO's) Currently ranked #7 on Ring Magazine's Pound For Pound list goes against his toughest challenge. Moving up in weight to Super Flyweight (115 Lbs.) for the WBA interim Championship against Panamanian Rafael 'El Torrito' Concepcion (13-3-1, 8 KO's). Im for The Filipino Flash. Donaire seems to throw his punch like his a miniature Mike Tyson. Its looks so quick and light, but its a bomb when a lands. His last bout against previously undefeated Raul “The Cobra” Martinez, Donaire showed that power, knocking him down three or four times. Donaire plans to keep moving up weight as his comrade Pacquiao to prove he also a force from the Philippines.

(Fight Conclusion- This fight was going to be hard one for Donaire. Concepcion came in at 119 ½ pounds. Not making weight, he was fined a hefty amount by the WBA and not given the option of receiving the interim championship if he won. As the fight began, Donaire immediately felt the power of the Panamanian left and right dazing him. The weight difference obviously causing the power to be quite different then a Super Flyweight, Donaire changed plans. The Flash bounced around and boxed, pretty much the whole fight landing clean, precise shots. The fight was Donaire pulling the trigger at the required moments as Conception chased him trying to slug. Donaire pulled off the win with points. Nonito Donaire Vs Rafael Concepcion Highlights.)

Paul Malignaggi Vs. Juan Diaz
As Top Rank promoter Bob Arum labeled fight “The Battle of The Losers”, Which it is/was..., Paulie “Magic Man” Malignaggi (26-2, 5 KO's) Is a boxer with a different sort of style. In his last fight, he got banged around by Ricky Hatton, before the Manny Pacquiao bout. His trainer came out in who knows what round to stop the abuse. And Malignaggi threw a fit...He's fucking weak. (Or else he acts like it.) He doesn't got power in his punch, talks way too much in which he isn't and in the fight with Hatton, He didn't do what he was suppose to do, to BOX. Juan “Little Bull” Diaz, (34-3, 17 KO's) fights like warrior though. This man demonstrated he can throw a punch and has the hunger like a real boxer should have. (For Blood.) But, the showing of his losses shows he lacks Ring IQ. He was stopped by Mexican great Juan Manuel Marquez in his previous bout, which was a thriller.

(I recommend watching this Fight all the way. It can definitely be fight of 2009; Shows what boxing is really about. Watch the whole fight here.)

When Diaz was stunned, He didn't know how to clinch. and Marquez's precision shots and creative combinations put him out. Even though he was out classed by a older, experienced fighter, he still has what it takes to come up back in the picture of Lightweights or even Junior Lightweights.

(Fight Conclusion- Wow. This damn fight cause so much commotion. And my feelings have changed a toward Malignaggi. Definitely. When watching the fight, I didn't expect seeing such a dominant fight plan coming from Malignaggi and the lack of plan coming from Diaz. Changing his trainer after the fight with Ricky Hatton, Malignaggi came with the boxing effect. It was a refreshed and defined Magic Man, landing jab jab jabs. He came quick with offense and jumped around, avoiding toe to toe exchanges with his opponent. Diaz though, when he came close, he would land those heavy shots that would knock the sweat off of Malignaggi and get the San Antonio crowd wilded up. As the fight progressed though, The Magic Man swagger tainted the Little Bull's style, and the way I saw it, it was about 7 rounds to 5 for Malignaggi. But when the scores were read out,...Wow. They fucked that shit up. Diaz wins by Majority decision.)
